Celebrity Grand Marshal Pippa the 3-Legged Dog
Canine Social Media Influencer Extraordinaire
The Mystic Krewe of Barkus is pleased to present the 2024 Celebrity Grand Marshal, Pippa the 3-Legged Dog, who is a nine-year-old mixed breed rescue with three legs. She was believed to be around two years old when she was found roaming the streets of New Orleans with a broken leg after being hit by a car. She was brought to the Southern Animal Foundation where she received medical care. Her leg and tail were amputated, and after several months of rehabilitation, she was placed for adoption. Pippa soon found herself in a loving home in Lake Charles, LA with her parents, Lydia and Ray Crochet, as well as her new fur-sister, Jeanie. Jeanie, who recently passed, also had three legs. She was an award-winning therapy dog, model, children’s book star, and popular social media influencer.
Not long after Pippa was settled in her new home, a video featuring Pippa was posted to Jeanie’s social media. This video of Pippa zooming back and forth went viral in September of 2016. Since then, Pippa’s zooming videos have been featured on MTV's "Ridiculousness,” MSN, the New York Post, and Yahoo’s homepage. She also has millions of views on social media where she’s acquired her own following and fan base.

According to DNA testing, Pippa is a mix of Yorkie, Schnauzer, Chihuahua, and “other” terrier breeds; although many believe her to be part cheetah, as she is quite possibly the world's fastest three-legged dog.
When she’s not entertaining the masses on social media, Pippa enjoys chasing ducks, napping in the sun, and not sharing her two favorite toys, Chickenbunny and Gichafrog.
She also enjoys chewing out the neighbors for being in their own yard.
Pippa aspires to one day catch a lizard. But for now, her main goals are promoting pet adoption and proving to the world that four legs are overrated.
