What do I receive for my registration fees?
The krewe member will be given credentials and directions regarding their color-coded lineup before the start of the parade, a certificate of membership, and food/drink tickets redeemable at food/beverage booths day-of parade. Non-krewe members are not allowed to walk in the parade, but are welcome to enjoy the festivities day of the parade, 10:30am-'til.
What forms of payment does the Mystic Krewe of Barkus accept?
The Mystic Krewe of Barkus accepts checks made payable to Mystic Krewe of Barkus, as well as VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. If you choose to register online, please know that our site is secure.
What about the humans with the krewe members?
Each krewe member's registration includes one human escort. Additional human guests can walk with the krewe member by purchasing an escort pass for $10. Escort passes can be purchased online, at registration outlets and are available day-of-parade at the Registration Desk. Esteemed Levels of registration: Lucky Dog, Leader of the Pack and Top Dog include two, two and four human escorts, respectively.
Where do I go the day of the parade?
Plan to arrive early so that the krewe member (and the human escorts) have ample time to transition into the proper state of mind for this experience. The pre-parade Pawty starts at 10:30 am. On the corners of North Rampart and Orleans Avenue. Doggie and people drinks will be flowing along with all the appropriate New Orleans food items to consume at will. Where can I see the royal court the day of the parade?
The royal court is introduced at the stage before the start of the parade lineup. Royalty always leads the parade, so they are positioned in the front of all canine subjects.
Who receives the proceeds from the Mystic Krewe of Barkus parade and events?
Proceeds from the Mystic Krewe of Barkus are donated to dog and other animal organizations all over Louisiana.Proceeds from the Mystic Krewe of Barkus 2019 benefited Animal Rescue New Orleans, Jefferson SPCA, Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue, Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue, Humane Society of Louisiana, Southern Animal Foundation, Zues' Rescues and the SULA Foundation. The Mystic Krewe of Barkus also supports the Louisiana Search and Rescue Team.
How do I buy tickets to the The Mystic Krewe of Barkus Ball?
Individual tickets for this humans-only ball can be purchased for $125.00 each. (individual tickets do not include reserved seating). The Mystic Krewe of Barkus Ball includes an open bar, delicious food, a presentation of the King and Queen, DJ and raffle with numerous gifts and prizes.
Reserved tables of 12 are available for $1,500, and include reserved seating for 12.
How can I donate?
Click here to donate in increments of $10 to Barkus. To donate more, increase your quantity (i.e. 2 items = $20 donated to Barkus). All donations are tax deductible.
