Meet Our Dukes
DUKE ANDY
In 2010 Duke Andy found his forever home as he was adopted from the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. Duke Andy is a mixed poodle-terrier-lab with a few other things. Duke Andy has been through obedience training at PetCo and has also been trained and certified as a Therapy Dog through Therapy Dog International. Duke Andy has been visiting Nursing Homes in Dubuque, Iowa since 2012. When he moved to Louisiana in the summer of 2014 he began regularly visiting nursing homes on the North Shore area of Lake Pontchartrain.
Also Duke Andy was the 3rd Eye Raven in Game of Bone. And last year he was Yoshi.

DUKE CHARLIE THE GYM DOG
Duke Charlie is 5 1/2 years old and he has been the shop dog at Prime Fitness Rx since their opening in 2014. He loves to greet everyone at the door and assist in their matt work, especially yoga. Duke Charlie is very excited to be a part of Barkus 2020!

DUKE MILO
Duke Milo, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, will be traveling from Baton Rouge to make his grand debut as Barkus royalty. He's a dashingly handsome 8-year-old certified pet touch therapy dog who spends most of his Saturdays bringing smiles to the capital city's nursing home and rehabilitation center residents. When he's not being gushed over at the old folk's home, he's been known to circulate the LSU campus as an ambassador for the mental health organizations.
During his downtime, you'll find Milo in the kitchen where he happily holds the title of CTT (Chief Taste Tester) for his mom's cookbooks or strolling through the neighborhood with his beloved emoji or donut; he never leaves home without them. DUKE BUDDY
Buddy is a basset hound that was adopted from the SPCA Animal Shelter in Fluvanna County, Virginia, back in 2013. At nearly 13 years old, he’s enjoying his senior years with lots of cuddles, snacks & naps. He’s still got plenty of pep to play with his little brother, Channy, and go on outings with his Mommy. He loves making friends and making people smile. Buddy celebrates Mardi Gras every year with his annual ride around the yard in a decorated wagon.

DUKE SAMMY
Duke Sammy originates from Florida. He was found by his mommy roaming the streets of Miami. He moved to New Orleans in the summer of 2017. He enjoys walking, barking and napping. His favorite day of the week is any day he can relax on the couch and eat “chicken on the stick” with his mejor amigo.

DUKE DOBBY
Duke Dobby began his education on the streets. Then, once adopted from the Louisiana SPCA by his loving family, he received a private education by a trainer where he learned basic commands. He now receives continuous education from his four legged adopted “mom”. Duke Dobby enjoys snuggling with his humans and playing tug of war and chase with his canine “mama”. He also enjoys carrying his toys on his head and his back. He loves to go on walks where he gets to meet new people and make new friends. Dobby especially loves to sing along when his human brothers play the violin or piano!
The streets were not the kindest to Dobby and he is continuously trying to grow back his hair. No big deal for Dobby, though, because he is loved and handsome nonetheless.

DUKE SNOOPY
Duke Snoopy is a Bermise Mountain Doodle. Weighing in at 147 pounds. Duke Snoopy attended Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi with his father, Field and after a year, when he was relocated to Pass Christian to live with his grandparents, and their 8 canine children.
As a young BM Doodle, he came into this world with 6 siblings, only to have 4 of them accidentally drown, where he and one other survived. He now lives in Pass Christian and recently began visiting the French Quarter on weekends. This is his first year to participate in the merriment of Mardi Gras.
Snoopy’s favorite hobbies are: Eating, chasing squirrels, Eating, Eating and Eating. He enjoys walks on the beach, and eating for exercise. He is excited about his new Royal Family and the additional treats, and new cuisine that it may bring.

DUKE BEAUX
Duke Gumbeaux (Beaux) Pittman is an English Bulldog belonging to Mr. Keith Pittman and Judge Robin Pittman who was born on February 27th, 2019 on the Northshore. Beaux has two human siblings, Keith Michael and Kaitlyn Marie as well as 5 fur-siblings. His favorite games to play are fetch and tug of war. His favorite pastimes are to go outdoors and people watch. He loves to spend time with his family. He enjoys eating and meeting new people so say hello on Instagram @nola_gumbeaux.

Duke Parker
Duke Parker is a Jack Russell Terrier who was found by his daddy at Pet Fest in Lafreniere Park hence the name Parker. He loves chewing Bluetooths and eyeglasses and beating up on his siblings. Duke Parker is very excited to be a Duke again this year!
