Duchess Hazel Morgan AKA Happy Hazel (Honorary)
Our visiting Duchess from San Antonio, TX is Happy Happy Hazel. She is the 2023 Fiesta San Antonio “King Anbarkio” representing Therapy Animals of San Antonio. Hazel is a therapy dog who specializes in working with children on their journey through grief. Hazel has been working at the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas since she became a therapy dog in 2018. She received national recognition with her work in Uvalde, TX that started the day after the tragic Robb Elementary School shooting in May 2022. Hazel, along with other CARE (Crisis Animal REsponse) teams continued working in Uvalde throughout summer school and into the start of the new school year.
Hazel has over 1000 volunteer hours and she and her “pawrents” have raised over $175,000 for dog related non-profits with special emphasis on educating the community on the importance of spay/neuter.
After a long day at work, Hazel enjoys doing zoomies with her siblings Bugs and Molly followed by enjoying her favorite treat – yogurt and pumpkin pup-sicles. Follow Hazel on social media @happyhappyhazel.
