BARKUS QUEEN XXVII, HER MAJESTY BELLE
Her Majesty XVIII, Queen Belle Hebert, is a stunning red Standard Poodle and daughter of Marc Hebert of Old Metairie, Louisiana. A little over three years ago, the Hebert’s became aware that she needed to be re-homed and they happily gave Queen Belle a forever place in their family. This was a magical match and all of their lives changed forever.
Queen Belle thought it could never be better until she became the Queen of Barkus, which is a dream come true. She enjoys greeting her canine friends and their humans alike and is very excited about the opportunity to reign over Barkus to spread joy and happiness throughout her kingdom. What Queen Belle really enjoys are the smiles and attention from people when she travels, meeting and greeting strangers as if they were friends. She is especially excited about Barkus parade day because, although she absolutely loves to impress everyone and garner attention by carrying her own leash during her walks and runs, she will take a break and enjoy being transported in her royal carriage along the parade route where she will greet all who join her for parade day! She is busy working on her Royal attire, which will include plenty of bling, and Queen Belle will be getting her hair and nails done before her media interviews while practicing her table manners and proper paw placement ahead of her lunch at Galatoire’s – and of course, listening to her favorite song “Good as Hell.”
In her free time, Queen Belle is an avid traveler, runner, and digger. During her travels, she spends her time running the National Mall in Washington DC, hanging at the beach in the Florida Keys, fishing for reds in Fourchon, and chilling at the ranch in Texas. When this carnival season is over, Queen Belle plans to relax in her Old Metairie townhouse before starting her travels again.
She is truly honored to be chosen as Queen Barkus XXVIII, which is an experience of a lifetime for her and her family. Queen Belle wishes everyone, especially her canine friends, a happy and festive Mardi Gras season!!
